MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Actress Kim Cattrall, best known for her role as Samantha Jones on “Sex And The City,” is stirring up a debate about parenting.
Cattrall sparked controversy with her statements on motherhood during an interview this week with BBC Radio.
She’s been married 3 times and has no children, but Cattrall still calls herself a parent even though she’s never raised a child.
She explained that’s because she’s a mentor to young actors and actresses and is close with her nieces and nephews.
Cattrall added that there are other ways to become a mother that do not include having your name on a child’s birth certificate.
Cattrall also takes issue with the term “childless,” saying the word makes it sounds like you’re less of a person if you haven’t had a child.
